Ramadan is fast approaching and the 30 Days Prayer Prayer for the Muslim World Campaign will start by August 22, 2009 until September 20, 2009.
According to Wikipedia,
Ramadan (Arabic: ??????) (also written Ramazan, Ramzan, Ramadhan, Ramdan, Ramadaan) is an Islamic religious observance that takes place during the ninth month of the Islamic calendar; the month in which the Qur’an was revealed[Qur’an 2:185] to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). In the western calendar, the dates of Ramadan vary, moving forward about ten days each year. It is the Islamic month of fasting, in which participating Muslims refrain from eating, drinking, sexual conduct, smoking, and indulging in anything that is in excess or ill-natured; from dawn until sunset Fasting is meant to teach the Muslim patience, modesty and spirituality. Rama??n is a time to fast for the sake of Allah, and to offer more prayer than usual. Muslims also believed through good actions, they get rewarded twice as much as they normally can achieve. During Rama??n, Muslims ask forgiveness for past sins, pray for guidance and help in refraining from everyday evils, and try to purify themselves through self-restraint and good deeds.
I would like to call on fellow believers to support this project and help bring change to the UPG’s of the muslim world. I have been promoting this activity for the last 2 years and have tried sending this on a daily basis to friends and family members.
The purpose of the daily prayer is not about change of religion but to draw our Muslim brothers to “Isa Al Masih” and have a personal, close and fruitful relationship with Him. The goal of the movement is not to Christianize the Muslim world, but to spread the message of hope, peace and grace that comes in the knowledge of the Son Of God, Jesus Christ.
